Listen to your Mac
If you don’t like reading through long texts, you can have your mac read them to you. To use it, select the text you wish be read, go to menu bar, click on edit and select speech then start speaking.
One great use of this feature is having your mac read an important document you are writing to help you review it.
If you find you will use this function often you can enable a shortcut. Open system preference and click on dictation and speech. Click on Text to Speech tab at the top of the screen. You can select a different voice where it says System Voice. To enable the shortcut click on the small box on a side where it says Speak selected text when the key is pressed.
