Amongst Apple’s many updates and announcements today (which we’ll talk about in more detail in the next few days) was the expected release of Mavericks. What was unexpected was Apple’s new pricing scheme — Mavericks is free, for everyone. You will need to be running 10.6.8 or higher to get that free upgrade, and keep in mind that if you are doing that update, there are some things you should think about first.
