We’ve talked before about apps to help you cut the cable cord, and we have an update to the list in the form of FilmOn Live TV.
A few of us have been testing this one out on our own devices and we’re pretty satisfied with it. It gives you access to local live TV (in our case, we get an array of stations from Boston and NY), including the big hitters like Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC and CW, as well as WNET (PBS in NYC). There are also a number of premium channels that require a subscription. The free version allows you to stream standard quality shows, and a paid version gives you HD shows and the option to record.
We’re still hoping for the day that a comcast or verizon subscription gives you access to streaming live TV on your iOS Device, but until then this helps make watching media on the go a little bit easier.
